Skillgem Rebalancing - 11/29/09
The number of skillgems has doubled, with brand new gems as well as improved versions of the old ones. Everyone's skillgems have been unequipped and their XP values refunded, and your inventories have been updated to reflect their new distributions. Also, there's a new quest available out of Smallsville, with a brand new area to explore so you can (re?)complete your skillgem collection!

Yes, for real. The client was submitted today, and should be out of the review process as soon as the reviewers stop wasting all their time playing the game.

Internal Changes - 5/29/09
There've been some internal changes that should help speed things up somewhat, especially on slow connections. It's a semi-major rework of some sections, so please give a shout out in the forums if you find any problems.
More New Content! - 4/16/09
This one is very minor, just two new quests to ease the grind from level 1 to 2. It also makes getting the Generalist skillgem much more predictable. High level players should blow through them very quickly. ;)
New Content! - 3/28/09
Calling all brave adventurers levels 8+! Head to Calais to see if there are any other forests that might need your help. Also, I've streamlined the combat panel - let me know what you think over in the forums!
UI Tweaks - 3/1/09
In my ongoing effort to get the UI friendlier, cleaner, and better smelling, I've made some tweaks and changes to how you interact with the game. Major points:
- All windows can be repositioned now
- Condensed character / effects / button bar windows into one
- Moving onto a door/town/stairs/etc. will automatically "enter"
- A map indicator helps guide you to finish "almost complete" quests
I need your feedback on these changes in order to ensure we can make the game the best thing ever. Let me know over in the forums. Thanks for your help!
More Facebook Progress - 2/12/09
Rudimentary Facebook integration is now complete. If you view the page via Facebook, then it'll allow you to create a character easily and then logs you in directly. More work will continue to happen here over the coming days.

Facebook Integration is Go! Sort Of! - 2/11/09
The beginnings of integrating PQ into Facebook can now be seen. This is going to take a couple of days to iron out the kinks, but for now please try it out if you've got a Facebook account and let me know what you think over in the forums.
Customizable Player Houses - 11/23/08
Want to carve out your own little slice of home in PQ? Now you can! Just click on a player's name (even your own!), and there's now a button in the details that will whisk you away to that player's house. Once you've wrapped up on socializing, leaving the house will take you right back where you started from.
What's more, you can decorate your own house to fit your own deranged personality. The housing bits are even interchangable with the shop bits!
This is a pretty big feature, so please let me know in the forums if you run into any problems.
Spooooooooooky! - 10/30/08
There are some mischievous monsters running around the world with special candy. PvP winners are taking candy from strangers (and friends). Even more mysterious is that the Mausoleum in the Ridgeland Cemetery has left its door open for the first time. Legends speak of the secrets within... hidden secrets. Spooky!
This time of year only lasts through Monday, so you'd better get in there...
while you still can! MOOHAHAHAHA!

Customize Your Shop! - 9/14/08
If you run a shop, you'll find there's a brand new way to gussy up the place! Simply click on "Manage Your Shop", then "Start Decorating!". More decorations will be added over time, but there should be enough in there right now to turn your shop into a unique place of your own.
Quickbelt Added - 8/13/08
There's now a spiffy way to access your favorite consumables quickly and easily. Just drag an item icon from the consumables window to the quickbelt at the bottom of your screen, and voila! Instant access to that item!
NOTE: Due to an unfortunate and intractable problem in Internet Explorer, items can't be added to the quickbelt in that browser. As always, for the best possible PQ experience, use
Opera.
New Game Interface! - 8/5/08
All that backend reworking is complete, and I'm happy to unveil the new game interface today.
There's still a lot of polish left to do, but I believe this should be in a good state for you all to start playing with it. Please put all feedback in the special "New Game Interface" thread in the Bugs forum. Please be aware that IE leaks memory like there's no tomorrow, and that I'm looking into this issue.
Also, who's been feeding the slimes Giant-Gro™? Once it gets on to just one of them it'll spread throughout the whole ecosystem, you know.
Some Digital Dust - 7/26/08
You may have noticed there's some new problems here and there. I'm in the middle of some major backend renovations, and I'm bound to break some things while I'm working. Please rest assured I'm on the case, and will be fixing things just as soon as I notice them as being broken.
There's two ways you can help out, and both are appreciated greatly: 1) post in the forums when you notice something broken, and 2) please have patience while I get the new bits ironed out.
Thank you for your continued support! I promise this is all leading up to something awesome. With luck, it won't run more than another couple of days, tops, before we're back to stable happiness.
Playing with Effects - 7/23/08
I'm trying out some new ideas for visual effects. Nothing I'm doing here is set in stone, so please head over to the Forums and let me know what you think! Specifically, keep an eye out for the damage animation, watch those HP/SP/XP bars, and let me know if the window transition still needs tweaking.
UPDATE: I've turned off the window transition, as it wasn't working out. I'm sorry for any headaches I may have caused with this one. :(
New UI Customizations Available - 7/23/08
Head over to the Gold shops today to check out the new assortment of UI customizations that are available. What's more, any UI customizations that you use in-game will now be visible to others on your character page!
Don't understand what I'm talking about? Just check out
my character page. Want your own fancy stylings? Head to a Gold shop in-game and scroll to the bottom!

Ever wanted to own your own shop? Of course you do. Well, now's your chance - head to Smallsville, Candor, or The Necropolis to check out their brand new player-run malls. Shops are limited, so act now!
Combat Balance Tweak - 7/12/08
The monsters are organizing! Well, into multiple smaller groups anyway, which fixes the long-broken area effects balance. Should make the later game more interesting, anyway, since mages and fighters are no longer untouchable there. ;)

Xaroth Convention Appearance - 7/02/08
Each year, I attend a convention known as
CONvergence in the Twin Cities, Minnesota area. Awesome convention, good times, highly recommended if you're in the area. I'll be there as an attendee, but we're going to see if we can't organize some stealth PQ events for those of you who are also attending.
I'd like to be able to say "I'm the guy in the black trenchcoat, with a goatee and glasses," but we all know how that goes at these types of events. Nonetheless, if you're there and recognize me, come say hi!
Now with Xfire detection! - 6/09/08
As of today, if you're an
Xfire user, you can track your PseudoQuest gameplay hours! Just log into the Xfire client and the Xfire website, and you're set!
Also,
we're running a contest! All you need to do is apply to be a member of the
PseudoQuest clan, send Xaroth a message in-game with your Xfire username, and have played at least 700 turns before Monday, June 23rd.

There's now a spiffy page with details on your character, for review or sharing with others. Check out mine at
http://www.pseudoquest.com/character/xaroth or see your own by replacing that end bit with your username. These are now linked to from the stats page, too.
Also, players can now interact with and talk to others in all areas other than the overworld map now. Should make the world feel a bit less lonely.
All kinds of updates - 4/12/08
Today's update sees a lot of little things for the main game, and some pretty big things for the Dojo. Be sure to check out the new shop interface for buying / selling weapons and such!

New Content Area!!! - 1/12/08
It's been a long wait, but hopefully it's worth it. The new content area is finally finished! If you've finished the last of Lord Such-and-Such's quests, you'll want to head up to Port Royale to get one more quest from him.
