 PQ animation!
Since I recently got grphics gale pro, i'd thought i'd try out some animation using PQ sprites. For me, the results are pretty terrible. not helped by the fact i lost the original background of grass tiles. Oh well. It's not great, but here it is. Hears a much better one, albeit non pq related.

 Re: PQ animation!
Lol, that PQ anim is realy 1) Smooth nd fits well 2) funny, with the slimes eyes going x/o/x/o/x/o but apart from that is veery nice And the second one is also gd, but whats he doing with his arm after shooting :S

 Re: PQ animation!
The arm angles are a little strange in some frames... hard to describe, but I get the feeling like his upper arm is too long vs. where the elbow should be. The x/o/x/o on the slime eyes is good. For demonstration, I picture a sort of shaking back-and-forth of the slime sprite when he gets hit. You know, old school damage animations. I like where it's going, though. I can imagine the sword being just another layer in the animation, able to be swapped out for different smashing implements. Like, bashing a monster with the MSPC would be hilarious. Animation of the world is the next "big" thing I really want to do, but presently lack the resources for. This is a delicious taste of what's in my imagination for the game.

 Re: PQ animation!
admittedly for me this was more of 'let see what I can do with this' experiment more than anything else. The other reason It's not as good is because i'm allergic to not finishing stuff i do on graphicsgale on the day I start it. Which mesant that since i started this at around 7pm, i think, it was very rushed. I think these are the frames I think your talking about. in retrospect i should have changed those.

 Re: PQ animation!
Those are the ones. Still, feels like a small adjustment to get it polished up. The beauty (and most frustrating part) of pixel art is that those 1-to-3 pixel adjustments are so tiny, but make such a big, big difference.

 Re: PQ animation!
I might see if i can give this a bit of extra polish on the weekend, maybe fix those frames up a bit.
and yeah, i know what you mean. a pixel here, or there can make all the difference.

 Re: PQ animation!
i should ask guinness to help. they dont do pixel animations, but if they did they'd probaly be the best in the world.
on a more down to earth note, i agree thoughourly, and i can never get the right place xD

 Re: PQ animation!
although not strictly keeping with the pq art style, this is pretty close.
